James B. Greenwood, the owner of Greenwood Computer
Service, is a self-taught, and motivated Pelham, NH
resident. Jim attended Pelham schools and is a member of
the PHS Class of 1978. After spending most of his life
in construction and having his own Drywall Business in
the eighties and early nineties. He has always had a
draw to computers and technology. His first computer was
a Commodore 64 in 1984, it was used as a tool to run his
business as well as the driving force into technology.
In 1994 Jim suffered a severe fracture to his leg in a
work related accident. This left Jim unable to work for
5 years, during this period he volunteered to assist the
Town of Pelham by joining the towns technology committee
(tech staff). Jim chaired the committee for several
years. Jim also volunteered to develop
web presence for the Town of Pelham in 1996. He joined
the towns public access television committee (ctac)
and then worked part time for the town when the cable
coordinator and studio manager left their positions. He kept things running at PTV until he was
hired to fill both positions in 1999. At the same time
Jim had begun to service the school district computers
for the Town as a private contractor and consultant.
To this day Jim continues to volunteer as the Towns
Webmaster, he is the current Cable Coordinator for the
Town and continues to service the Computers and Network
for the Pelham School District. Jim has taken his web
experience and has begun to offer Web Hosting in 2003, he
manages several dedicated servers through a major web
presence provider on a very fast back bone with 24/7
support.
